Hey Jarrod, I've been waiting on some kind of confirmation of release date for the GX502 with the 4k 120hz screen for a couple months. I'm in desperate need of a new laptop, and it fits perfectly into the work I want to do. Do you have any ideas when we might see that come out? At this point, I'm wondering if I'll be waiting until early 2020. I suppose I could just jump in on a Zenbook Pro Duo…

I know it is off-topic but I am hoping you would help. Would you be able to confirm that the latest gx701 with the i9 cpu are shipped without g-sync? all the older reviews of the gx701 with i7 came with g-sync but I am curious why the latest batch doesn't have it implemented. Almost made the decision of getting one until I read some reviews on amazon regarding the absence of g-sync despite the mentioning of it on the official website.

    Thanks.

    4k on a 17.3" screen is dumb.

Id rather have 1080p screen with 240hz.

I've been waiting for the m gu502 @ 144hz with a 2060 in glacier blue. it'll be interesting to see if nvidia's super line launch makes a difference to asus product stack.

Thanks for the excellent coverage though.

between the asus 4k amoled, and the gigabyte 4k amoled. is the asus 4k amoled from samsung, or from a different manufactor? Which one did you see had the better display, and in terms of thermals as well. I hope you can reply. it would help alot. Its hard for me to decide.

I bought Zephyrus M GU502GV for 1650$ on a sale last week. Right now it's for 1850$ on Bestbuy. There are no reviews for the product on youtube. 1650$ for 1 TB SSD with optane, RTX 2060 graphics and i7 9750. Please review it.

Forgot to say that Cool NumPad on the TrackPad (I always used a mouse anyway) makes up for the lack of the side numeric. At least I could put the TrackPad to some use! Never saw that B4. Razer, RU listening??

GX502! Great review. I gotta search for more info on those now, have never encountered a 240 Hz panel B4 on these types, tho prolly wouldn't need ATM. As long as I get my RTX 2070 Max-P I'm fine. I love the light up ROG logo (RGB). Optimus is back for browsing on the go (I like 2B always connected, and sometimes need more than a 6" screen – SS Gal. S, ZenPhone, OnePlus… Huawei Mate, ZTE Axon, LG G, Google Pixel or their FlagShip, or even iPhone 10, etc). Especially w/ that 4 cell inside, w/ Win/10 batt saver and you manually set your brites as lo as possible, on a 15" you have a chance to last a while, even if that 6' + hevyduty 14 gauge extension won't reach a Socket from your table! Not gonna put on the Sony's and game while sitting w/ my friends at StarBucks for 2-3 hrs anyway. Prolly don't need 4K yet in a Lappy, and I'd game and edit on diff rigs anyway. Was waiting 2C this ASUS line! Looks sharp, like what the Razor I'd panned – so did others, NO mDP, numeric (on a 17")! and the review didn't even touch on thermals which I doubt could compete against MSI CoolerBoost 5 (and the GE75 was ½ Lb LIGHTER than the Razer for at least 1 GRAND less)! I liked the other ASUS here, Strix or that you can get a 1660Ti, which maybe I'd use only as a 2nd rig as I'd want a 17/2070 at least, but it's powerful, and from what I saw on the last Strix/Zeph series, you get $$$ left over from 2 Grand, prolly a few bills.

Wondering how much a 15" G502 w/ 2070 would go for though. I luv that pale Blu too! Wondering how it looks under Normal Lite – was there a Red on the MSI (Titan 76) – they used to have a Dragon or 'Tobii' model in red, prolly ltd production, and my Qosmio is Hot Red too – My Fave color. W/ 144 and maybe 1080p at 1st, how much xtra is the 4K screen? 2 KG is pretty light (had to get the Win 'Converter' mode on Calc to do 2.85 KG, twas disappointed when it turned out 2B more than the GE75, but that's not a prob for me anyway). I had the Tosh Qosmio 18.4" (still runs – Win/7), and both my ASUS 17" (Vista – 1st Lappy ever, 17.0, and ROG G74SX, both i7, if I reinstall the OS, that 1 might run also), were over 9 Lbs!! MSI GS75 is 1.88 KG (4.15 Lbs). Their earlier GS 'Ghost' 15" was actually Lighter than a 15" MucBook!! I prolly wouldn't get such a thing tho (MSI GS75), for the $$$ of a 2070 in 1 of those, I'd rather save and use a bit xtra muscle to carry 2 lbs more inside my case, and 2 bills more inside my wallet (at Least)!! These ROG's seem to fill a great niche, thx 4 the reviews, try to do a full on the G502. Maybe I can get that Laser surgery or something and still carry a 15" and not worry abt carrying a SamSung or Aquos or LG 50" + panel w/ me also! I'd always bump up fonts and browser zoom, then have to go back down on some pg's for it to fit the screen well. That's where Chrome comes in handier, but I grew up w/ MSIE (to my Chagrin). I will NOT has MS Edge come up on any panel I view! Never even really seen it, I just click 'X" when a bad association I never config'd IN MY STYLE gets clicked by accident – that stupid thingy in the top corner of a window that brings up 'Bing' – NO, I want GOOGLE!! Don't fix what ain't broke!! NO movies/TV or the new W/10 photo crap either. Media player, and had to find a sub for Apple QT aft Win 7 was phased out. Never get around to config'ing/sizing (custom font) 'WinAmp' immediately to play my MP3's each time I get a new Rig (I got 800, 70s/80s New Wave and Disco, 5 Gigs worth at mostly only 128 Kbps). It's takes me some time to set up each new machine to my liking.

Now I need to find where they have electronic/CES type Demo shows in the US, for PC and prolly Video Hd'Ware (tho my unboxed SS 65" 4K will be fine for a while, as I have 52 and 46 1080p screens that are still fantastic for much stuff, w/ TONS of connections, NetWorked, and 2 Blu-Ray players here too).

Is AORUS any good, maybe do some of those next. Called them, don't like the idea of getting a 'Lite-OFF' boot drive, but I usually swap out for SS PRO NVMe anyway. My GP73 had a Tosh M.2 w/ write 465, read above 500 and it's MLC! As it's been hectic, my 970 PRO 512 GB isn't in yet (next on my list), but I may keep the Tosh in slot 2! What Lines does ASUS usually use for their NVMe boot drives? I need to try and see if they can give me a narrow answer, MSI uses a few diff, but they said SamSung and WD, I got the Tosh, so Great there. Giga said Transend, I'm OK until I do an U/G, but they sometimes also use Lite-OFF.

    Take care!
